In a ten year career with the Borthwicks Group (1976 – 1986) he rose from Financial Controller in New Zealand to Director of Finance for Borthwicks, Australia to General Manager of Borthwicks, New Zealand.
He then spent the following two years as General Manager, Meat Marketing for Waitaki International Limited, a business with $550 million in annual sales.
In 1988 he took the position of Group General Manager of the Smiths City Group, a nation-wide retailer based in Christchurch, retailing furniture, floor coverings, appliances, sport and DIY products, and became Chief Executive in 1990.
In this role he oversaw a major revitalisation of a business with assets of over $100 million and 700 staff. During his tenure the business more than doubled with annual sales now at $175 million over a five year period, and a return to consistent profitability. He resigned from his full-time executive role in 2000 and is now Chairman of Smiths City Group.
Craig is also a director of Datacom Group Limited; Orion New Zealand Limited, Orion Group Limited, Progressive Leathers Limited, Progressive Leathers Export Limited, Furniture Concepts Limited, Snowy Peak Limited, SCG Finance Limited, Transdiesel Limited, and LV Martin & Son Limited. Craig was previously a chairman of Industry New Zealand and a director of Television New Zealand Limited, Christchurch City Holdings Limited, Advanced Foods of New Zealand Limited, Power Company Limited, Wairau Park Limited, Transpower Limited, and Red Bus Limited.
Top Richard brings over 40 years of transport industry management experience to Connexionz.
He was previously General Manager and a director of the NZ Express Transport Group of Companies, a position he held between 1987-2006. NZ Express had 140 employees and annual revenue of over $30 million.
Richard is Director of Islay Investments, Resolutionz 101 Limited, and Bedrock Trading Limited. Richard previously held a directorship position at Ivory Freight Limited, National Containers Limited and Contact Freight Limited. Between 1992 and 1999 Richard was a Director of the Road Transport Forum New Zealand including Chairman for 3 years. He is a life member of the Road Transport Forum New Zealand, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and a member of the Institute of Directors. Top Robert formed Connexionz Limited, a company registered in September, 1996. He has been working full-time on RTPI solutions since 1998, before which he was the Sales Manager for the Mobile Data Unit at Tait Electronics.
Robert’s career has included a number of sales and marketing and management roles in technology companies over a period of 15 years. In this time he has had considerable experience in successfully establishing new businesses and marketing new technology products. He has a track record of building a clientele of major customers and of increasing corporate growth.
Companies he has worked for in senior management roles include Walker Datavision Limited (1987-1989), Hewitt Rand Corporation Limited (1989-1992), Solstat Industries Limited (1992-1996), Portent Technologies Limited (1996-1997), and Tait Electronics Limited (1997- 1998).
Top Tony has his own corporate advisory business and investment company. He provides clients with corporate finance advice, assists with structuring and business strategy and with capital raising.
Prior to setting up his own business in 1996, he worked in various executive roles with ECNZ, including three years as Market Development Manager and three years as Account Manager. In these roles he was closely involved in power price negotiations, development of financial derivative contracts for risk management and in negotiations to acquire electricity distribution businesses.
Tony holds electrical engineering and science degrees from the University of Canterbury, and a diploma of business studies and an MBA from Massey University. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors.
Top Bruce, a Chartered Accountant, is founding Director of Auckland-based accounting firm Gilligan Sheppard Limited and is currently Chairman of the NZ Shareholders Association.
He has particular expertise in risk management, corporate structuring, venture capital and taxation.
