The University of Maryland College Park, is one of the top research and higher education institutions, located in College Park Maryland.

Connexionz has provided UMD with an outstanding robust system, which meets all our specifications and functional requirements. They continue to support UMD by remotely monitoring the system on a daily basis, providing training for new staff, conscientiously carrying out software and hardware updates, and attending to warranty and maintenance issues promptly, and as necessary.

 The advent of Real Time Information has seen overall ridership increase 20% during the first full year of operation, the IVR system now receives as many as 14,000 arrival enquiries each month, and we have been able to modify our routes and timetables to improve our resource utilization and operational efficiency.

In 2000, Environment Canterbury, the regional council in charge of public transport management in Christchurch, set a target to double the number of trips made on public transport from three to six per cent by 2011 in an endeavour to reduce traffic congestion and contain carbon dioxide emissions. Connexionz installed a unique Real Time Passenger Information Solution in each of the city's 215 buses (we are now operating 304 buses).

Seven years on, Connexionz continues to meet Environment Canterbury's growing needs. "We've been very happy with the Connexionz product and the commitment from their staff in maintaining and continually upgrading their product. Because of space limitations the Bus Exchange relies on dynamic bus allocation, which couldn't be achieved without Real Time Passenger Information. In the main Connexionz Real Time Passenger Information has proven extremely reliable and provides coverage throughout the greater Christchurch area where our Metro services operate. Our customers find that the provision of a Real Time Passenger Information system takes away that niggling question of "have I missed my bus or is it still coming"," according to Wayne Holton-Jeffreys, Manager of Passenger Services. In 2007, the service was expanded to include Rangiora and Timaru.

From the five vendors invited to submit bids for an AVL system, Connexionz was the only company able to demonstrate a complete working product capable of meeting and exceeding our requirements.

Once the system was commissioned, the benefits of the Connexionz RTT system were obvious; management of the vehicles and drivers was greatly enhanced, real time visibility of bus location and potential bottlenecks could be identified and dealt with immediately and revenue, the most important measure for Airbus, grew around 16.0% during the six-month period from the installation of the passenger information displays. Patronage has now leveled out at around 12% year on year growth.

Customer satisfaction levels have improved, and the system is providing accurate route, schedule adherence and management information, not previously available. Regular users of the Airbus are now relying on the real time arrival data, and the system is trusted, improving the user’s perception of the bus system.

We have been pleased with the level of quality and swift response from Connexionz. So much so, in fact, that we are expanding the system to all twelve of our routes and 30 buses. The ease of Connexionz dialing in to the server (located here in Arlington VA) to update the routes, bus stops and times has been very welcome. We are going to order 40 more busfinders too.

Again, Connexionz products work well, and the support of the company for our (remote to them) operation has been superior. I recommend them highly.
