Connexionz was formed in 1999 by several former executives of some of New Zealand's leading and innovative technology companies in response to what they perceived to be a growing demand for real time vehicle tracking systems and passenger infromation solutions.

Realising that mobile radio infrastructure provided an efficient and low cost communications system, they set to work to design a system that would meet global demand. This was followed by an unpresidentedlevel of interest in the company's products and services, which resulted in numerous contracts being awarded to the startup company, and this didn't go unnoticed, as the company was soon to be awarded numerous national and international business awards for the innovative products and services it had developed and deployed to its global customers.

One of the many unique services available from Connexionz in its early years of operation was the fact that as a technology independant company, they were able to use a wide range of wireless technologies to track and manage their customer's fleet of vehicles. From dedicated and private radio networks, to cellular, WLAN, canopy, MESH and WiMAx bearers, to automatic passenger counters (APC) and next stop annunciators (NSA), Connexionz quickly became known as one of the world's leading suppliers of intelligent transport solutions.

Today, Connexionz continues to be recognised as one of the most innovative suppliers of Intelligent Transportation Systems globally.
